Not quite ready to send a message? A Wink is a free way to let another RSVP member know you’re interested without using a Stamp. It is like sending a simple "Hello" to other member.
It’s an easy way to make the first move and see if the interest is mutual.
What happens when I send a Wink?
When you send someone a Wink, they’ll be able to see that you’re interested and can choose how they’d like to respond.
If they respond positively, you can then decide whether you’d like to use a Stamp to start a conversation.
We generally recommend sending a free Wink first and waiting for a positive response before using a Stamp. That way, you’ll have a better idea of whether they’re interested in getting to know you too.
How do I send a Wink?
Found someone you’d like to get to know?
- Open their RSVP profile.
- Look below their profile photo and select the purple Wink button.
- Choose the message you’d like to include with your Wink.
- Send your Wink.
That’s it! They’ll be able to respond if they’re interested.
Why am I receiving Winks from people outside my preferences?
You may occasionally receive a Wink from someone who falls outside the age, distance or other preferences you’ve selected.
This can happen because matching and searching work both ways. While they may not match all of your preferences, you may match the criteria they’re looking for, which means your profile can appear in their results.
If you’re not interested, that’s completely fine — simply select Not Interested when responding to their Wink.
How long do Winks stay on RSVP?
How long a Wink appears depends on what happens after it’s sent:
- Someone Winks at you: The Wink will stay on your Winks page for up to 14 days if you don’t respond.
- You send a Wink and don’t receive a response: It will expire after 14 days.
- Someone responds to a Wink you sent: Whether their response is positive or negative, it can remain in your Winks list for up to 28 days.
- You respond positively to a Wink: The Wink can remain visible for up to 28 days, or until either of you starts a conversation.
- You respond with Not Interested: The Wink will be removed from your Winks page after you send your response.
- The other member’s account is suspended: Their Wink will be removed straight away.
Once the relevant timeframe has passed, the Wink will automatically disappear from your account. Once the Wink has expired, you can send that member another Wink if you’re still interested.
Can I delete a Wink?
Yes. If you don’t want a Wink to appear in your list anymore, swipe it to the left to reveal the Delete option.
Keep in mind that deleting a Wink is permanent. Once you’ve deleted it, we can’t restore it for you.
