For privacy reasons, RSVP no longer displays the exact date or time another member was last online or active.
We understand that some members found this feature helpful. However, we removed it to give everyone greater privacy and make using RSVP feel more comfortable.
Showing exact login times can sometimes create unnecessary expectations about when someone should read or respond to messages.
How Can I Tell If Someone Has Been Online Recently?
Although we don’t display exact last active dates or times, you may notice an online status indicator next to a member’s name in Chats.
- 🟢 Green dot: The member has been online within the last hour.
- ⚪ Grey circle: The member is currently offline.
These indicators give you a general idea of recent activity without revealing someone’s exact login history.
Keep in mind that being online doesn’t necessarily mean someone is available to Chat or ready to respond.
How Can I Tell If Someone Is Still Active on RSVP?
If you’re interested in someone but aren’t sure whether they’re actively using RSVP, we recommend sending a free Wink first.
A Wink lets you express interest without using a Stamp.
If they respond positively, you’ll know they’re interested in connecting, and you can then decide whether to use a Stamp to start a Chat.
This can help you gauge whether the interest is mutual before starting a conversation.
What Happens to Profiles That Haven’t Been Used for a While?
RSVP has processes in place to manage accounts that haven’t been accessed for an extended period.
- After one year of inactivity: A member’s profile becomes dormant.
- After a further year of dormancy: The profile may be deleted from our system.
Dormant accounts, suspended or blocked profiles, and members who have taken a break are excluded from Matches, Common Interests, Tag Matches and Search results.
This helps ensure that the profiles you discover through these features don’t include accounts that have become dormant.
How Do I Know If My Message Has Been Read?
In Chats, a green tick (✓) next to a message you’ve sent means the recipient has read it.
You’ll also see a red dot on the Chats icon in the RSVP mobile app when you have unread messages or new Chat activity.
These indicators help you keep track of your conversations without displaying another member’s exact login history.
Remember, even if someone has read your message, they may not be ready to respond straight away.
