Ready to get to know someone better? Starting a Chat on RSVP is easy!
You can start a private Chat with another member using a Stamp. Once you’ve started a conversation, you can exchange unlimited messages for 30 days, and the other member can reply for free.
How Do I Start a Chat?
To start a conversation with someone you’re interested in:
- Open the member’s RSVP profile.
- Tap or click the green Chat icon, or scroll to the bottom of their profile to find the Chat section.
- If you have an available Stamp, you’ll be prompted to use it. Otherwise, you’ll have the option to purchase Stamps.
- Once you’ve selected your Stamp, you’ll be taken to the Chat page.
- Type your message in the message box and tap or click Send.
That’s it! Your message will be sent to the other member.
You can return to your conversation anytime through the Chats section.
Do I Need a Stamp to Start a Chat?
Yes. A Stamp is generally required to start a new Chat with another member.
One Stamp gives you 30 days of unlimited messages with that member. You won’t need to use another Stamp for each message during that period.
If another member has already used a Stamp to contact you, you can reply for free.
You can also start a free Chat if you’ve received a SuperWink, which allows the recipient to begin a conversation without using a Stamp.
Tips for Starting a Great Conversation
Your first message is an opportunity to make a good impression. Here are a few simple tips:
- Start with a friendly greeting. A warm hello is always a good place to begin.
- Make it personal. Mention something from their profile, such as a shared interest or hobby.
- Ask a question. Give them something easy to respond to.
- Keep it genuine. Be yourself and avoid sending the same generic message to everyone.
- Be respectful. Everyone has their own pace when it comes to getting to know someone.
