Finding the right person takes time, but a few small changes to your RSVP profile and preferences can help you discover more compatible members.
RSVP uses two-way profile matching and behavioural data analysis to recommend potential matches based on your profile information, Looking For preferences and activity.
Here are some tips to help you make the most of your RSVP experience.
1. Complete Your Profile
Your profile is your opportunity to introduce yourself and help others get to know you.
Take the time to complete your profile information, including your interests, lifestyle and what you’re looking for in a relationship.
Be genuine and specific about yourself. A thoughtful profile can help attract members who share your interests and relationship goals.
2. Add Clear, Recent Photos
Photos are often one of the first things other members notice when viewing your profile.
Choose clear, recent photos that reflect who you are today. A friendly, natural photo of yourself is a great place to start.
Consider adding a few additional photos showing your hobbies, interests or everyday activities.
Tip: Make sure your primary profile photo clearly shows your face.
3. Review Your Looking For Preferences
Your Looking For preferences help RSVP understand the type of person you’d like to meet and are used to generate your daily Matches.
If your preferences are too specific, you may limit the number of potential Matches available to you.
Consider broadening your preferred age range, increasing your distance or being more flexible about certain lifestyle preferences.
For criteria that aren’t particularly important to you, you can select Not Specified.
Remember, being open to different possibilities may introduce you to someone you wouldn’t have otherwise considered.
4. Add Your Interests
Shared interests can be a great starting point for meaningful conversations.
Update your Interests section to include activities, hobbies, music, sports, movies or other things you enjoy.
You can also add a short description to tell other members more about your interests.
The more someone learns about you through your profile, the easier it may be to find common ground.
5. Explore Your Daily Matches
RSVP curates personalised Matches based on your profile, preferences and compatibility with other members.
Take time to review your Matches regularly, as new recommendations may become available.
You may also notice a compatibility percentage on some profiles. This indicates how closely a member aligns with RSVP’s matching criteria.
A higher percentage suggests stronger compatibility based on the information available, but it doesn’t guarantee a successful connection.
6. Explore Discover Recommendations
If there aren’t enough members who meet your Looking For preferences, RSVP may suggest additional profiles through Discover.
Our Discovery Engine considers your activity, including profiles you’ve viewed and members you’ve interacted with, to recommend other potential connections.
Discover profiles may fall outside some of your usual preferences, so it’s worth keeping an open mind.
You can identify these profiles by the Discover badge in your Matches section.
7. Use Search to Explore More Members
While Matches provides personalised recommendations, Search allows you to explore members using your own search filters.
You can refine your results based on age, location, lifestyle, background and other criteria.
If your search returns very few results, try adjusting your filters to include a wider range of members.
Remember, your Search filters are separate from the Looking For preferences saved on your profile.
8. Send a Free Wink First
Found someone who catches your interest? Try sending them a free Wink.
A Wink lets another member know you’re interested without using a Stamp.
If they respond positively, you can decide whether you’d like to use a Stamp to start a conversation.
We generally recommend sending a Wink first and waiting for a positive response before using a Stamp, as this can help you gauge whether the interest is mutual.
9. Stay Active and Keep an Open Mind
Finding a meaningful connection doesn’t always happen straight away.
Visit RSVP regularly, review your Matches, explore new profiles and keep your information up to date.
You might discover that someone who doesn’t meet every preference on your list could still be a great connection.
Remember: Your preferences are there to guide your search, not limit your possibilities. Sometimes the best connections happen when you’re open to meeting someone a little different from what you originally imagined.
