Your Looking For preferences help RSVP understand the type of person you’d like to meet. They’re an important part of our matching system and help us recommend members who may be compatible with you.
You can set preferences such as age, location, height, lifestyle, relationship status, background and other personal characteristics.
How Do Looking For Preferences Work?
Your Looking For preferences are displayed on your RSVP profile so other members can see the type of person you’re interested in meeting.
They’re also used by our two-way matching system, which considers the relationship between your preferences and those of other members when generating your daily Matches.
This means we look at whether the other member meets your preferences and whether you meet theirs.
Your preferences are the starting point for our matching system, alongside your profile information and behavioural activity.
You can update your Looking For preferences at any time.

Why Am I Not Getting Many Matches?
If your Looking For preferences are very specific, you may receive fewer Matches because there aren’t enough members who meet all your criteria.
For example, selecting a narrow age range, a small distance radius and several specific lifestyle preferences may significantly limit your potential Matches.
If you’re receiving very few or no Matches, try broadening your age range, increasing your preferred distance or relaxing preferences that aren’t essential to you.
You can also select Not Specified for criteria where you’re open to different possibilities.
Remember, being flexible with your preferences may help you discover more potential connections.
Why Am I Seeing Members Outside My Looking For Preferences?
While Matches are primarily based on two-way compatibility, you may occasionally see members who fall outside your selected preferences.
This can happen when there are limited members who meet your criteria, and our matching system broadens certain preferences, such as age or distance, to suggest additional potential connections.
You may also see Discover profiles, which are recommendations based on your activity and interactions on RSVP rather than strictly on your Looking For preferences.
Discover profiles are identified by a Discover badge in your Matches section.
Are Looking For Preferences the Same as Search Filters?
No. They’re two separate features.
Looking For preferences are saved to your RSVP profile and help our matching system generate personalised daily Matches.
Search filters are used when you actively search for members and allow you to refine the profiles displayed in your Search results.
Changing your Search filters doesn’t change the Looking For preferences saved on your profile.
