RSVP is an inclusive dating service with members from a wide range of backgrounds. We understand that everyone has different preferences when looking for a potential partner.
Our matching system is designed to connect members based on their individual Looking For preferences, including age, distance, lifestyle and other criteria.
However, you may occasionally see profiles or receive Winks from members who fall outside your preferences.
Why Does This Happen?
There are several reasons why you might see or hear from members outside your preferred criteria:
- Broader matching: When there are limited members who meet your preferences, our matching system may broaden certain criteria, such as age or distance, to suggest additional connections.
- Discover recommendations: Our Discovery Engine suggests members based on your activity, including profiles you’ve viewed and Winks you’ve sent. These members may not meet all your Looking For preferences.
- Winks from other members: You may receive Winks from members outside your preferences because your profile meets their search or matching criteria, even if they don’t meet yours.
This means another member may see you as a potential match and choose to send you a Wink, even though they fall outside the range you’re personally looking for.
Your Looking For preferences help RSVP recommend suitable members, but they don’t necessarily prevent other members from viewing your profile or expressing interest.
What Can I Do If I’m Not Interested?
You’re always in control of who you choose to interact with on RSVP.
If you receive a Wink from someone you’re not interested in, you can respond Not Interested. There’s no obligation to continue interacting with a member if you don’t feel they’re the right match for you.
You can also manage your experience using the following options:
- Block a member: If you don’t wish to interact with someone, you can block them to prevent further contact through RSVP.
- Update your Looking For preferences: Keep your preferences up to date so your Matches better reflect the type of person you’d like to meet.
- Premium Privacy: If you’re a Premium subscriber, you can adjust your profile visibility settings to control which members can see your profile.
Remember, you’re never obligated to respond to a Wink or message from someone you’re not interested in.
