If you haven’t used RSVP for a while, you might be wondering what happens to your profile and whether your account will eventually be deleted.
RSVP has processes in place to manage inactive accounts and help keep the platform relevant for members who are actively looking to connect.
What Happens If I Don’t Log In for a Long Time?
If you stop using RSVP, your account may eventually become dormant.
Here’s how it works:
- After 1 year of inactivity: If you haven’t logged in to your account for one year, your profile becomes dormant.
- After a further 1 year: If your account remains dormant for another year, it becomes eligible for deletion from our system.
This means an account that has been inactive for approximately two years may be deleted.
Please note: Becoming eligible for deletion doesn’t necessarily mean your account will be deleted immediately.
Will Other Members Still See My Profile?
Once your account becomes dormant, your profile will no longer appear in RSVP’s main discovery areas, including:
- Matches
- Common Interests
- Tag Matches
- Search Results
This also applies to profiles that are suspended, currently on a break or blocked by you.
These measures help reduce the number of unavailable profiles appearing when members search for potential connections.
Can I Use RSVP Again After Being Inactive?
If your account hasn’t been deleted or otherwise restricted, you may be able to return to RSVP by logging in with your existing account details.
If you’re unable to access your account, check our article Why Can’t I Log In to My RSVP Account? for possible reasons and next steps.
If your account has already been permanently deleted, it cannot be restored.
What If I Want to Take a Break From RSVP?
If you’re planning to stop using RSVP temporarily, you don’t need to wait for your account to become dormant.
You can use the Take a Break option to hide your profile from other members while keeping your account.
This is useful if you’re:
- Taking a break from online dating.
- Focusing on someone you’ve met.
- Not currently looking for new connections.
- Planning to return to RSVP later.
For instructions, see How to Hide Your Profile Temporarily or Take a Break.
How Can I Tell If Someone Is Still Interested in Connecting?
While RSVP manages dormant and unavailable profiles, we can’t guarantee that every active member will respond to a message.
We recommend sending a free Wink before using a Stamp to start a conversation.
A Wink allows you to express interest without using a Stamp. If the other member responds positively, you can decide whether you’d like to take the next step and start a Chat.
This can help you gauge someone’s interest before using a Stamp to send a personal message.
