At RSVP, we’re committed to creating a safe, genuine and trustworthy dating community where members can connect with confidence.
To help achieve this, we use a combination of automated security checks and verification processes to protect accounts, reduce fake profiles and ensure members follow our Community Guidelines.
Verification is one of the ways we help make RSVP a safer place to meet new people.
Why Is Verification Important?
Verification helps us:
- Protect your account: Reduce the risk of unauthorised access and suspicious activity.
- Prevent fake profiles: Help identify misleading or fraudulent accounts.
- Reduce scams and fraud: Detect potentially suspicious behaviour and protect members.
- Build trust: Give members greater confidence when connecting with others.
- Maintain community safety: Help ensure accounts meet RSVP’s Community Guidelines and Terms of Use.
RSVP also uses automated account checks to identify unusual activity or potential security concerns. These checks work alongside our verification processes to help protect the community.
What Types of Verification Does RSVP Use?
Depending on your account and circumstances, RSVP may use the following verification methods.
1. Mobile Number Verification
When you join RSVP, you’ll be asked to verify your mobile number.
A 6-digit verification code will be sent to your mobile number. Simply enter the code when prompted to confirm that you have access to the number provided.
2. Email Verification
RSVP verifies email addresses to help ensure they’re valid and accessible.
A 6-digit verification code will be sent to your registered email address. Enter the code when prompted to complete verification.
This also helps ensure you can receive important account communications, including password resets and security notifications.
3. Photo Verification (Optional)
Photo Verification is an optional feature that helps confirm you’re the person shown in your primary RSVP profile photo.
It involves completing a quick selfie check, where the system compares your selfie with your primary profile photo.
Once successful, a green check icon (✔) will appear next to your name on your profile.
This helps other members recognise that you’ve completed Photo Verification.
Good to know: Photo Verification is different from regular photo approval. Uploaded photos may still be reviewed to ensure they meet RSVP’s Photo Policy Guidelines.
4. Identity Verification
In some circumstances, RSVP may require additional identity verification to confirm your identity and protect the community.
This may happen if your account has been suspended, unusual activity has been detected or additional security checks are needed.
You may be asked to provide a valid government-issued identification document, such as a passport or driver’s licence.
Your identification must:
- Be valid, current and not expired.
- Clearly display your photograph.
- Show your full name.
- Include your date of birth.
- Clearly show the document’s expiry or validity date.
Documents that are expired, unclear or missing the required information may not be accepted.
Important: Identity verification is not required for every member. It’s requested when additional security or authenticity checks are necessary.
Why Am I Being Asked to Verify My Identity?
If you’ve been asked to complete identity verification, it doesn’t necessarily mean you’ve done anything wrong.
RSVP uses automated security checks and account reviews to identify activity that may require additional attention. Sometimes, legitimate accounts may be flagged for review.
Depending on the circumstances, we may request identity verification before deciding whether your account can be reactivated.
Please note: Completing identity verification does not automatically guarantee account reinstatement. Your account may still require further review depending on the reason for the restriction.
Is My Personal Information Kept Private?
Your privacy is important to us.
Your email address, mobile number and identification details are not displayed on your public profile or shared with other RSVP members.
Verification information is handled in accordance with RSVP’s Privacy Policy and applicable security requirements.
We use this information for legitimate purposes such as account verification, security, account management and compliance with applicable laws.
What Happens After I Complete Verification?
The outcome depends on the type of verification you’ve completed.
- Mobile Number Verification: Your mobile number is confirmed once you’ve successfully entered the 6-digit code.
- Email Verification: Your email address is confirmed once you’ve successfully entered the 6-digit code.
- Photo Verification: A green check icon (✔) appears next to your name after successful verification.
- Identity Verification: Your information is reviewed to determine whether your account meets RSVP’s security requirements.
For accounts undergoing additional review, RSVP may restore access, request further information or maintain the restriction depending on the outcome.
Is Verification Required?
Some verification steps, such as mobile number and email verification, are part of confirming your account details.
Photo Verification is optional, but completing it can help other members feel more confident that your profile genuinely represents you.
Identity verification is only required in certain circumstances, such as when additional security checks are necessary.
While verification helps improve security, no dating platform can eliminate every risk. We encourage members to remain cautious, protect their personal information and report suspicious behaviour.
