Photo Verification is an optional feature that helps confirm you’re the person shown in your RSVP profile photos.
It involves completing a quick video selfie check, where RSVP compares your selfie with your primary profile photo.
Once successfully verified, a green check icon (✓) will appear next to your profile name and on your verified photos, helping other members recognise that you’ve completed Photo Verification.
How Does Photo Verification Work?
Photo Verification is quick and easy.
- Log in to your RSVP account.
- Open the Photo Verification feature from your profile.
- Follow the on-screen instructions to complete a short video selfie check.
- RSVP will compare your selfie with your primary profile photo.
- Once verification is successful, a green check icon (✓) will appear next to your profile name and on your verified photos.
Tip: Make sure your face is clearly visible, you’re in a well-lit area and your primary profile photo accurately represents your current appearance.
Why Should I Verify My Photos?
Although Photo Verification is optional, completing it can help:
- Build trust: Show other members that you’ve completed an additional authenticity check.
- Reduce impersonation: Help confirm that your profile photo represents you.
- Increase confidence: Give potential matches greater confidence when viewing your profile.
- Support community safety: Contribute to a safer and more genuine dating environment.
All photos uploaded to RSVP go through a review process to ensure they meet our Photo Policy Guidelines.
What Happens When I Upload a Photo?
When you upload a photo, it may go through an automated check or manual review.
- Approved: Your photo will appear on your RSVP profile.
- Pending review: Your photo won’t appear until the review is completed. Manual review may take up to 24 hours.
- Rejected: Your photo won’t be displayed on your profile.
Good to know: You don’t need to complete Photo Verification for your uploaded photos to be approved.
What If My Photo Verification Is Unsuccessful?
If your verification doesn’t go through, try the following:
- Make sure your face is clearly visible.
- Use good lighting and avoid shadows.
- Remove anything that obscures your face.
- Check that your primary profile photo is clear and accurately represents you.
- Follow the on-screen instructions carefully and try again if the option is available.
Does Photo Verification Guarantee That a Member Is Genuine?
Photo Verification provides an additional authenticity check, but it doesn’t guarantee a member’s identity, intentions or behaviour.
We encourage everyone to remain cautious when meeting people online, protect their personal information and report suspicious activity.
