When you report a member on RSVP, our Customer Support and Safety Team reviews the information to determine whether the account has breached our Community Guidelines or safety policies.
We take member reports seriously and investigate suspicious or inappropriate behaviour to help maintain a safe and respectful community.
How Does RSVP Investigate Reports?
Once a report is submitted, our team may review:
- The reported member’s profile information and photos.
- Relevant account activity and behaviour.
- Messages and interactions related to the report.
- Previous reports or concerns involving the account.
- Any supporting information provided.
Each report is assessed based on the available evidence and the circumstances involved.
What Happens to a Reported Account?
Depending on the outcome of our investigation, we may take one or more of the following actions:
- Issue a warning if the behaviour requires correction.
- Request additional verification, such as Photo Verification or identity verification.
- Restrict account access while concerns are being reviewed.
- Temporarily suspend the account if further investigation is necessary.
- Permanently remove the account if serious or repeated violations are identified.
In some cases, a reported profile may be temporarily hidden or suspended while our team completes its review.
Submitting a report does not automatically mean the member will be suspended or permanently removed. We assess each case individually.
Why Was a Suspended Member Reinstated?
Sometimes, a member who was previously suspended may become active again.
This can happen if the member:
- Successfully completes the requested verification checks.
- Provides information that resolves the concerns.
- Passes our account review process.
- Receives a warning rather than a permanent restriction.
A suspension doesn’t always mean a member has violated our policies. Some accounts are temporarily restricted as a precaution while additional checks are completed.
Reinstatement means the account has been permitted to return to RSVP following review. It does not guarantee the member’s identity, intentions or future behaviour.
Will the Member Know I Reported Them?
No. RSVP does not disclose the identity of the person who submitted a report to the reported member.
Reports are handled privately, and your personal details are not shared with the member as part of our investigation process.
However, depending on the circumstances, a member may be able to guess who submitted a report.
Will RSVP Tell Me the Outcome?
For privacy and security reasons, RSVP generally does not provide updates or disclose the outcome of investigations involving another member’s account.
This includes details about warnings, verification checks, restrictions or decisions to suspend or reinstate an account.
Our team will take appropriate action based on the findings of the investigation.
