At RSVP, we want everyone to feel safe and respected while meeting new people.
If you come across a suspicious profile, inappropriate behaviour or anything that makes you uncomfortable, we encourage you to report it.
You don’t need to be certain someone has broken our rules before submitting a report. Our team will review your concerns and take appropriate action where necessary.
How Do I Report a Member?
You can report a member using the RSVP website, mobile browser or mobile app.
- Log in to your RSVP account.
- Open the profile of the member you want to report.
- Select the ⋯ (More Options) menu.
- Choose Report.
- Select the reason for your report.
- Click or tap Submit.
Your report will be sent to our Customer Support and Safety Team for review.
You can also choose to block the member when submitting your report to prevent further interaction.
When Should I Report Someone?
You should report a member if they:
- Appear suspicious or dishonest, including using fake photos or misleading information.
- Ask for money or financial assistance, regardless of the reason.
- Send inappropriate or offensive content, including unwanted sexual messages.
- Harass, threaten or intimidate you.
- Pretend to be someone else or appear to be using a fake identity.
- Pressure you to move conversations outside RSVP, particularly when combined with other suspicious behaviour.
- Violate RSVP’s Community Guidelines or make you feel unsafe.
If you’re unsure whether someone’s behaviour should be reported, it’s okay to submit a report and let our team assess it.
What Happens After I Submit a Report?
Once we receive your report, our team will review the information and investigate the account where appropriate.
Depending on our findings, we may:
- Issue a warning.
- Request additional information or verification.
- Restrict certain account activities.
- Temporarily suspend the account.
- Permanently remove the member from RSVP.
Submitting a report doesn’t automatically mean the member will be suspended or removed. Each report is assessed based on the available information and our policies.
For privacy and security reasons, we may not be able to share the outcome of an investigation or details about another member’s account.
Will the Member Know I Reported Them?
RSVP does not identify the person who submitted a report to the reported member.
However, depending on the circumstances, a member may be able to make assumptions about who reported them.
We recommend avoiding further interaction with anyone who makes you uncomfortable.
What If I Feel Unsafe?
If someone makes you feel threatened or uncomfortable:
- Stop communicating with them.
- Avoid sharing further personal information.
- Keep relevant messages or screenshots if it’s safe to do so.
- Report the member through RSVP.
- Block the member to prevent further contact.
If you’ve sent money or shared financial information with a suspected scammer, contact your bank or payment provider immediately.
If you’re in immediate danger, contact emergency services on 000.
Help Us Keep RSVP Safe
Member reports play an important role in helping us identify suspicious activity and maintain a respectful community.
We encourage you to report concerns early, even if you’re unsure whether someone has breached our guidelines.
Your report could help protect other members from experiencing similar behaviour.
