At RSVP, your safety is one of our highest priorities.
For more than 25 years, we’ve helped Australians connect and build meaningful relationships. Throughout that time, we’ve continued improving the measures we use to protect our community from scams, fraudulent profiles and inappropriate behaviour.
We use a combination of technology, profile moderation and account reviews to identify suspicious activity. Our team also investigates member reports and takes action against accounts that breach our policies.
While we work hard to keep RSVP safe, no online dating platform can completely eliminate the risk of scams or dishonest behaviour.
Your safety matters, and knowing what to look out for can help you date with greater confidence.
Simple Tips for Staying Safe Online
Whether you’re new to online dating or have been using RSVP for a while, a few precautions can help protect you.
- Take your time: Get to know someone before sharing personal information or moving conversations outside RSVP.
- Protect your personal details: Avoid sharing your home address, financial information, passwords or identification documents.
- Never send money: Don’t transfer money, purchase gift cards, invest in cryptocurrency or provide financial assistance to someone you’ve met online.
- Watch for warning signs: Be cautious if someone quickly expresses strong feelings, avoids reasonable questions or repeatedly makes excuses about meeting.
- Be careful with links: Avoid opening suspicious links or downloading files from someone you don’t know or trust.
- Trust your instincts: If something feels unusual, inconsistent or uncomfortable, don’t ignore it.
Remember, genuine connections take time. You should never feel pressured to share information, send money or continue a conversation.
