At RSVP, your safety and security are important to us. We want you to feel confident when meeting new people and building meaningful connections.
We use a combination of technology, automated security checks and human moderation to help identify suspicious activity, prevent scams and maintain a safer dating environment.
While no online platform can eliminate every risk, we’re continually reviewing and improving our safety measures to help protect our community.
How Does RSVP Keep Members Safe?
1. Profile Reviews and Moderation
Our team reviews member profiles to help identify fake accounts, misleading information and content that doesn’t meet our Community Guidelines.
This includes checking profile information, photos and account activity for potential signs of suspicious or fraudulent behaviour.
Profiles that raise concerns may be flagged for further review, restricted or removed from RSVP.
2. Automated Security Checks
RSVP uses automated systems to help detect unusual activity and identify potentially fraudulent accounts.
These checks may include:
- Technical information: Reviewing account and connection information to identify unusual access patterns or potentially related accounts.
- Suspicious activity: Detecting patterns in profile information, messages and member behaviour that may indicate scams or misuse.
- Account monitoring: Flagging profiles that require additional security checks or manual review.
These measures help us identify potential risks and take action when necessary.
3. Account Verification
In some circumstances, we may ask members to complete additional verification to confirm their identity or the authenticity of their profile.
Verification helps us investigate suspicious activity and reduce the risk of fraudulent accounts.
Depending on the circumstances, this may involve verifying account details, completing Photo Verification or providing identification when requested by RSVP.
4. Reporting and Blocking Features
Members can report suspicious profiles, inappropriate messages, harassment or other behaviour that may breach our Community Guidelines.
Our team reviews reports and takes appropriate action based on the information available.
You can also block another member if you don’t want them to view your profile or contact you through RSVP.
5. Privacy and Secure Communication
RSVP provides an in-platform Chat feature so you can communicate with other members without sharing your personal email address or phone number.
We recommend keeping conversations on RSVP while you’re getting to know someone.
Be cautious if a member pressures you to move immediately to another messaging platform, as this can make it harder for us to review concerning interactions.
Premium members can also use Premium Privacy to control who can view their profile.
What Can I Do to Protect Myself?
While RSVP works to maintain a safer platform, there are also steps you can take to protect yourself.
- Keep personal information private: Avoid sharing your home address, workplace, passwords or financial details with someone you’ve just met.
- Take your time: Get to know someone before exchanging contact information or meeting in person.
- Never send money: Don’t transfer money or provide financial assistance to someone you’ve met online, even if they claim it’s an emergency.
- Be cautious of suspicious behaviour: Watch for inconsistent stories, requests for money or pressure to move conversations outside RSVP.
- Trust your instincts: If something doesn’t feel right, don’t feel obligated to continue communicating.
What Should I Do If I Notice Suspicious Activity?
If you come across a profile or behaviour that concerns you, please report the member through RSVP.
Providing relevant details about the interaction can help our team investigate.
Depending on our findings, we may remove content, restrict account access, request additional verification or permanently terminate an account.
We encourage members to report suspicious behaviour, even if they’re unsure whether someone is attempting a scam.
Your reports help us identify potential risks and protect the wider RSVP community.
