If you don’t want another member to view your profile or contact you on RSVP, you can use the Block feature.
Blocking is a two-way feature that prevents further interaction between you and the blocked member.
What Happens When You Block Someone?
When you block a member:
- You can no longer view each other’s profiles.
- You won’t appear in each other’s Search results.
- You can no longer send messages or Winks to each other.
- You won’t appear in each other’s Matches or Discover emails.
- The member won’t receive a notification that you’ve blocked them.
Important: Blocking is permanent and cannot be undone. Make sure you want to block the member before confirming.
How Do I Block a Member?
You can block someone through their profile or an existing Chat conversation.
Option 1: Block From a Member’s Profile
- Open the member’s full profile.
- Select the ⋯ (More Options) icon.
- Choose Block.
- Confirm that you want to block the member.
You can block someone even if you’ve never communicated with them.
Option 2: Block From a Chat Conversation
If you’ve previously chatted with the member:
- Go to Chat.
- Open your conversation with the member.
- Select the ⋯ (More Options) icon within the conversation.
- Choose Block and confirm.
Once blocked, you and the other member will no longer be able to view or contact each other through RSVP.
Can I Unblock Someone?
No. Blocking a member on RSVP is permanent.
Once you’ve confirmed the block, it cannot be reversed.
If you’re unsure whether you want to block someone, consider whether simply ending the conversation would be more appropriate.
Should I Block or Report a Member?
Blocking and reporting serve different purposes.
- Block: Prevents another member from viewing your profile or contacting you through RSVP.
- Report: Alerts our Customer Support and Safety Team to suspicious, inappropriate or potentially harmful behaviour.
If someone is harassing you, asking for money, using a suspicious profile or violating our Community Guidelines, we recommend reporting the member, rather than only blocking them.
You can also choose to block a member when submitting a report.
What If We’ve Already Exchanged Contact Details?
Blocking someone on RSVP only prevents contact through RSVP.
If you’ve shared your personal email address, phone number or social media details, the person may still be able to contact you outside the platform.
You may need to block them separately through your:
- Phone or SMS settings.
- Email provider.
- Messaging apps.
- Social media accounts.
For additional privacy, consider using a separate email address for online dating that doesn’t contain identifying personal information.
Take Control of Your RSVP Experience
You should always feel comfortable deciding who can interact with you.
If someone makes you uncomfortable or you no longer want to communicate, you can block them at any time.
If their behaviour is suspicious or inappropriate, please report the profile so our team can investigate.
