Your photos are one of the first things other members notice when viewing your RSVP profile. Having clear, genuine and recent photos can help you make a great first impression and build trust with potential matches.
To help maintain a safe and authentic dating community, all photos uploaded to RSVP must meet our Photo Policy Guidelines.
Here’s what you need to know before uploading your photos.
1. Primary Photo Guidelines
Your Primary Photo is the main image displayed on your RSVP profile and in search results.
It should clearly show what you look like so other members can easily recognise you.
Your Primary Photo Must:
- Show only you: Your Primary Photo must be an individual photo, not a group photo.
- Clearly show your face: Use a close-up image where your face is easy to recognise.
- Face forward: Your photo should show your face from the front.
- Show your head and shoulders: Photos showing your head and shoulders or down to your waist are ideal.
- Be clear and well-lit: Avoid blurry, dark or low-quality images.
- Be appropriately framed: Your face should be the main focus of the photo.
What’s Allowed in Your Primary Photo?
- Sunglasses: Allowed as long as your face remains clearly visible.
- Pets: You can include your pet as long as you’re clearly visible and your pet doesn’t cover your face.
- Natural backgrounds: Outdoor settings and other backgrounds are fine as long as your face is the main focus.
What Might Cause Your Primary Photo to Be Rejected?
Your Primary Photo may be rejected if:
- You’re too far away from the camera.
- Your face is too small or difficult to recognise.
- Your face is mostly covered by an object, accessory or another person.
- The photo contains multiple people.
- The image is blurry, dark or poorly cropped.
- The photo doesn’t clearly show your face from the front.
Our tip: A recent, well-lit photo showing your face and a natural smile is a great choice for your Primary Photo.
2. Gallery Photo Guidelines
Your Gallery Photos give other members a chance to learn more about you, your interests and your lifestyle.
Gallery Photos offer more flexibility than Primary Photos, but they must still follow RSVP’s general photo guidelines.
What’s Allowed in Gallery Photos?
| Photo Type | Guidelines |
|---|---|
| Group photos | Allowed as long as you’re included in the photo. Group photos cannot be used as your Primary Photo. |
| Photos with pets | Allowed as long as you’re in the photo and your face is visible. |
| Swimwear photos | Allowed in your Gallery, provided they’re appropriate, non-explicit and show your full body. |
| Travel and landscape photos | Allowed as long as you’re also visible in the picture. |
| Photos with sunglasses | Allowed as long as your face is still clearly visible. |
| Hobby and activity photos | Allowed as long as you’re in the photo and the content follows our guidelines. |
Please note: Gallery Photos must still feature you. Photos showing only pets, scenery or other people won’t be approved.
3. Photos That Are Not Allowed
To maintain a safe and respectful environment, RSVP does not allow the following types of photos in either your Primary Photo or Gallery.
Low-Quality or Incorrectly Formatted Photos
- Low-resolution images: Photos must be at least 720 × 720 pixels.
- Blurry photos: Images where you cannot be clearly recognised.
- Upside-down photos: Photos must be uploaded in the correct orientation.
- Poorly framed photos: Images where your face is mostly cropped out or obscured.
Fake, Altered or Misleading Images
- Internet images: Photos downloaded from websites or social media that don’t belong to you.
- Copyrighted images: Content you don’t have permission to use.
- Cartoons or illustrations: Drawings, avatars or cartoon-style images instead of genuine photographs.
- Heavily edited photos: Images that significantly alter your appearance or make it difficult to recognise you.
We encourage members to use natural, genuine photographs that accurately represent how they look.
Inappropriate or Offensive Content
- Nudity or sexually explicit images.
- Underwear photos or inappropriate body shots.
- Offensive gestures, symbols or imagery.
- Photos promoting violence, hatred or discrimination.
- Images depicting illegal activities.
- Weapons or drug paraphernalia.
- Photos showing dead animals.
RSVP may reject any photo considered offensive, inappropriate or unsuitable for our community.
Restricted Content
- Photos of children: Children are not permitted in Primary Photos or Gallery Photos.
- Police uniforms: Photos showing police uniforms are not allowed.
- Certain other uniforms: Some uniforms may also be restricted.
- Personal information: Photos displaying sensitive personal details, such as vehicle registration plates, addresses, phone numbers or other identifying information.
Important: These restrictions apply even if the photo is otherwise genuine or belongs to you.
