Use the Block feature if you want to prevent another member from viewing your profile or contacting you through RSVP.
How blocking works
Blocking is a two-way feature. When you block a member:
- You will no longer be able to view each other’s profiles.
- You will no longer appear to each other in Search.
- You will no longer be able to contact each other through RSVP.
- Your profiles will also be excluded from each other’s Matches or Discover emails.
- The member will not be notified that you have blocked them.
Once you block a member, you cannot unblocked them, so please make sure you want to block the profile before confirming.
How to block a member
You can block a member by opening or viewing their full profile, even if you haven’t previously chatted with them.
To block a member from their profile:
- Open or view the member’s full profile.
- Select the three-dot icon (⋯).
- Select Block.
- Confirm that you want to block the member.
You can also block someone you have been communicating with directly from your Chat/Conversation page:
- Go to Chat.
- Open your conversation with the member.
- Select the three-dot icon (⋯) within the conversation.
- Select Block and confirm.
Once blocked, you and the other member will no longer be able to view or contact each other through RSVP.
What if the profile is suspicious or inappropriate?
If you believe a profile is suspicious, inappropriate or may be breaking RSVP’s rules, we recommend using the Report feature so our team can review the account and take appropriate action.
If you’ve exchanged private contact details
Blocking someone on RSVP only prevents contact through RSVP.
If you’ve already shared your personal email address, mobile number or other contact details, you may also need to block the person directly through your email provider, phone or messaging service.
For additional privacy, consider using a separate email address for online dating that does not contain identifying personal information.
